Get Great Value With The PHT-8 Home Theater Package

We've put together a great little home theater package for anyone who's looking for quality on a budget: our P6-PR Home Theater Package. This replaces the tSc HT-600 Home Theater Package, one of our most popular sellers, with a higher quality subwoofer.

Of course, we made the package better, but we did something else -- we lowered the price. That's right, we lowered the price of the package to $289, from $319. We found a way to cut the price, so we did it.

Here's a breakdown of the package, at a glance:

Why Sell Quality Speakers So Inexpensively?

Why sell high quality speakers at such cheap prices?
Because we can. Speakers don't cost that much to manufacture. Markups occur when distributors and dealers get involved. You can read more about that from the article The Hidden Costs of Speakers.

To date, we've been able to source our speakers from factories that make other name brand speakers or from factories where the company has recently gone out of business. As you can see, we now have a full line of quality speakers.

How will we make money?
High volume, pure and simple. We operate on thin margins. We can operate on these margins because we don't have to pay distributors or dealers to sell the product.

We also have online affiliates that we pay commissions for placing our links on their sites, which helps publicize our company and products. We also purchase online advertising in the form of keywords.

ASW-10 Subwoofer Now Available

Subs, subs, and more subs. Man, we're so excited about all the subs that we've got that we can't stop writing about them.

So, we've announced that the ASW-8 is now in stock. Now, the ASW-10 is here, and ready for you to buy.

We're pleased to now offer the ASW-10 subwoofer, the 10-inch, blow-your-socks-off subwoofer. That's right, this sub doesn't knock your socks off, it blows them off. Our professional writing training taught us not to use any cliches, so in this instance, we're going to change it a bit.

What's so special about the ASW-10? Check out the specs on it:

  • Vented (Bass Reflex) enclosure
  • Flared bass reflex port on both ends
  • High density 3/4” (18mm) MDF construction
  • 10” high excursion driver
  • 1.5” voice coil
  • 30oz. ferrite magnet
  • BASH® amplifier technology
  • 200w Peak power rating
  • 40-120Hz adjustable low pass crossover
  • Independent level adjustment
  • 0/180° phase switch
  • Selectable “ON” or “AUTO” modes
  • Operates on 110VAC
The drive unit in the ASW-10 features an injection molded polypropylene cone to increase stiffness, yet maintain an overall low moving mass. This increases the effective output without requiring substantial power to drive the woofer. The flared bass reflex port increases air flow without audible port noises and completes the package.

The drive unit also features a 1.5” voice coil, a 30oz. ferrite magnet assembly. The surround shape allows for a long travel without the woofer cone moving off center at either end of the stroke. Combined, these components allow this 10” woofer to move up to full excursion with very linear behavior. That means remarkably accurate bass in your home entertainment system that you can hear AND feel.

We've said it before, and we'll say it again. If you have neighbors that live below you, this sub may not be for you. If you want enemies living below you, this may help that cause.

We'll leave that decision up to you.

The Facts - ASW-8

  • BASH® amplifier technology
  • 50w RMS/100w Peak power rating
  • Vented (Bass Reflex) enclosure
  • Rigid MDF construction
  • Flared bass reflex port
  • High density 5/8” (15mm) MDF construction
  • 8” high excursion driver
  • 1.0” voice coil
  • 18oz. ferrite magnet
  • 40-150Hz adjustable low pass crossover
  • Independent level adjustment
  • 0/180° phase switch
  • Selectable “ON” or “AUTO” modes
  • Operates on 110VAC

Not Your Average Subwoofer
This is not your average thumpy overrated subwoofer that delivers a mushy bass. This sub easily fills a 15' x 20' room with powerful, clean, accurate bass that satisfies even the picky listener.

What's next for The Speaker Company? Check out the ASW-10, which will be coming around October 1. By year's end, we'll have four subwoofers.

Oh, one last thing we forgot to mention -- the ASW-8 has a phenomenal price tag on it at only $99.97. We're not going to try to sell you here, but we think you'll like what you get for your money. Check out the specifics on the ASW-8 here.

We've got some kicking home theater packages. Great speakers. Great sounds. Great values. You just can't beat it, we know. Others are learning about us, and things are getting pretty crazy around here.

One of our favorite systems is our TSAT series of satellite/surround speakers, particularly the TSAT1000s. For the  money, you just can't beat them. Put them together with one of our subwoofers and you've got sounds that you just can't believe.

Don't get us wrong. All of our systems are great. Even fantastic. This one is the deal of the century; they look beautiful, and they sound like a dream.

Oh, by the way, big magazines are taking notice of The Speaker Company and what we're doing here. But you found us first. Now get those speakers before they're backordered!

How To Set Up Your Home Theater System

We've received quite a few emails, phone calls and questions in our forum asking how to set up a home theater system. Besides the home theater packages that we now offer (complete with subwoofers), we also have resources that can assist you in setting up your home theater system.

One of the articles in our Resource section shows you where to place speakers. This article diagrams the room and shows you how to set up a 5.1 plus system. If you need additional information on what purpose each speaker performs, read the article on home theater speakers' uses.

If you have any additional questions, let us know. We'll continue to be a useful resource to you as we provide our high quality speakers at discount prices.

Who Is The Speaker Company?

Since we began operations last December, there have been lots of questions flying about The Speaker Company. Who are we? Why are we selling high quality speakers at such cheap prices? What's the deal?

So, let's come out here and explain things better. We think that once you understand what we're about and how we operate, you'll be quite comfortable with us. In fact, we think that once you get it and get us, you'll want to be a part of what we're doing, but that's for another time.

Who Are We?
We're a project that was started by a larger company, and now the organization has grown into its own entity. If you want to find out who the larger company is, Google us. Frankly, it's not important, as we are our own entity. If you're the kind of person that just can't stand not to know, do just a little research and you'll find out.

Our founders saw that there was a need for a company that sells speakers inexpensively online, and they knew that it could be done. They helped us get off the ground, put us in touch with factories that were creating other expensive, high line speakers, and let the conversations begin.

The rest is history. The Speaker Company was able to begin sourcing quality speakers at huge discounts and passing the savings on to our customers. We found quality lines, high quality lines, some from companies that are still operating, and others that are discontinued.

At first, some of our lines were good. Over time, we found some fantastic speaker deals, and we jumped on them. We were able to get great speakers -- all types of speakers -- at great prices. Towers, satellites, bookshelfs, in-walls, outdoors, surrounds, you name it. We did it.

In case you're still worried about credibility of our speakers, you can listen to the experts and what they're saying about us here.

It will take time, but we're impatient people and we want to succeed sooner rather than later. If we don't succeed, we'll have to go and get real jobs where we do something that we may not like ;-).

The Dream Team of Speakers
We cleared out the just good stuff and continue to clear that out as we build our Dream Team of Speakers. The Dream Team of speakers is now here, and like any team, we'll continue to build, trade, acquire and retire speakers in the future.

One of the saddest things is that we've learned that most that don't buy from us say it's because they don't believe that our prices could be so low. It's a credibility issue. We've even considered raising our prices just so people finally believe that our products are quality. We haven't done that though. In fact, we've cut some prices even more. The web can be quite counterintuitive, we've found.

Let's say it again -- if you're worried about our credibility, here's what the experts are saying about us after reviewing our speakers.

Now it's time to stop you're worrying. When you want the Dream Team of quality speakers, you know where to go -- The Speaker Company.

The Speaker Company Praise Continues

The Speaker Company's wave of momentum continues to get larger as the days progress and the company's popularity grows. More and more of you are coming to us to buy speakers. Why?

More of you get it.

As we continue to grow, we're receiving more press as well. Many are writing articles about speakers and including us in their articles.

One of the most interesting articles where we received mention (and then some) was in the article titled, The Hidden Costs of Speakers and How You Can Beat the System

Heck, our company is founded on the simple premise found in this article:

You DON'T have to pay a lot of money to buy quality speakers.

It's not rocket science; you don't have to be super-smart, super-cool, or super-rich to have good looking speakers that sound incredible.

Affordable, High Quality Home Theater Systems

That's right, incredible. Not good. Maybe great. Definitely incredible sounding speakers that don't cost too much. That's what we offer.

When you have your friends come over for a couple of drinks or to see the latest movie, you'll get the "hey, these speakers are amazing," comment.

That's how the Speaker Company is getting more popular. As we launch our home theater packages, sub woofers and new products, we get even more popular as we reach new audiences.

It's more than the quality of our products and costs, though.

Our quality, amazing customer service and rapid response times combine for the amazing customer experience. We get it, and we want to give that experience to you. At The Speaker company, it's about the entire experience that you get.

Read more about the hidden cost of speakers here. We think that you'll better understand what we're doing at The Speaker Company after you read this. Then come buy your speakers -- and your home theater packages from us.

We look forward to seeing you with that new home theater surround sound system in the near future. Then you can get that comment that we all love to hear: "these speakers are amazing."

TC2 vs The RC1 Center Channels

Many readers ask us if they should buy the highly rated RC1 or the brand new TC2 for a center channel speaker. This is a great question. Each of these center channels is matched to the series of speakers it belongs to; the RC1 to the tSc P Series and the TC2 to the tSc T Series. Both sound great and offer an incredible value.

The TC2 will give you more bass and greater detail in the high end. This is not to disparage the RC1 which is a fantastic sounding speaker that will fit in with most other brands of speakers besides its own P Series. The TC2 is also a larger than the RC1 so size may also be a purchasing decision. So it's your choice, at $49.97 & $99.97 both are a steal. Remember, Free shipping and 30 day in-home trial make it easy to choose tSc.

TSAT2000 Wall Mount Speaker Review

Chris Gohlke from Digital Home Thoughts reviewed the TSAT2000. Chris called the TSAT's "Classy looking", "Unobtrusive" and "One of the best bargains going". Thanks Chris, we agree.
Here are some excerpts from his review.

As a newcomer, but with a respectable heritage, the TSAT-2000s offer a great value. If you are looking for a quality set of classy, unobtrusive speakers to go with your flat panel TV, this is probably one of the best bargains going.

These are classy looking speakers. They've got some heft and feel very solid. The cabinets are made of wood and have a 5 layer hand rubbed lacquer finish giving a nice deep glossy black look that reminds me of a highly polished grand piano. The grills are a matching black finish and attach via small magnets, making removal and re-installation a breeze.

So with a smile on my face, I auditioned them for the rest of the day. I listened to music while working around the house, watched portions of the HD versions of 300 and Serenity, and played some Guitar Hero and the TSATs performed well for all uses. I pumped the volume well past my comfort level and they remained clear and without any obtrusive hissing.

The set includes an ingeniously simple mounting system that should let you mount them however you would like. Basically screw the plate to the wall or into a corner and then use a set of included screws to attach the speaker to the plate.

You can read the entire review here

Outdoor Speaker Sale

SUMMER SALE:

It's almost summer and we've put our IO series indoor outdoor speakers on sale. The IO5 and IO6 both have the following features:
  • Weather Resistant
  • Flexible Mounting brackets included
  • Bass Reflex design with Front Mounted port for better bass response
  • Easy Connect posts
  • Available in black or white
  • Free Shipping & 30 Day Trial + Free return shipping
Some outdoor speakers can have a really hard time generating enough quality sound to fill a backyard and will become distorted and boomy sounding. The IO5 comes with a 5.25" mid-woofer that coupled with our 1" aluminum dome tweeter creates smooth sound that holds up at even high volume levels.

Need more bass? Try the IO6 outdoor speaker. We made the cabinet larger and added a 6.5" polypropylene mid-woofer that really generates some nice bass response. (50 Hz –18 kHz) I played these for some friends recently and they could hardly believe these speakers could sound so good at both soft and loud levels. They really fell of their chairs when I told them we were selling them for $68.97 for the IO5 Outdoor Speaker and $88.97 for the 6.5" IO6. Youd better hurry because our outdoor speaker sale ends on July 4th.

These speakers come with free shipping.

New Satellite Speakers

The Speaker Company's TSAT 1000 & 2000 Satellite Speaker System

It's been a great ride so far for tSc but the weathers changing and we're about to turn up the heat. A new line of speakers will debut this summer from The Speaker Company. Today I'll share some pictures and information on two of the models in our new "T" series.

Our new TSAT 1000 and 2000 satellite speakers will turn some heads for sure. With 5 layers of hand-rubbed high-gloss lacquer they'll bowl you over. (no cheap plastic cabinets here!) Everyone we've shown these to has asked "when can I buy a set?" The TSAT 1000 satellite speakers come with 1 - 3.5" aluminum mid-bass driver and one HiCell high efficiency tweeter. Of course these sats sound as smooth as they look.

The TSAT 2000 has the same great look as the TSAT 2000 satellite speakers but with 2 - 3.5" mid-woofers. Both models come in black or white. Besides looking and sounding great the TSAT's are an easy to set up surround sound system with a flexible mounting system. You can stand them on a shelf, hang them on a wall or in the corners or ceilings. Simply mount the bracket to the wall then screw the speaker (through holes in the front) onto the bracket. You'll be finished in minutes. Both the TSAT 1000 & 2000 will be available in 5 packs and single packs. Since these are tSc speakers you can count on a wallet friendly price too!

Add a subwoofer and you'll be amazed at not only to look but the incredibly clear and balanced sound that comes from these small beauties.

Cheap iPod Speakers that Sound Great

iPod docks are a dime a dozen and cost from $49 to $350. Honestly most of the ones between $49 and $100 don't sound very good. A great alternative is to use Multimedia speakers to fill iPod or MP3 speaker needs. The Speaker Company offers two great MP3 Player friendly speaker systems for under $50.

The MS21.2 comes in at just $35.97 and delivers 80 watts of Average Music Power Output (it gets loud) in a 2.1 speaker format. Most iPod or MP3 speakers don't have is the separate power amp for the subwoofer so they deliver weak or thin sounding bass. The advantage of the 2.1 format is the separate subwoofer amp which allows the MS21.2 to deliver that extra bass we all love. This unit sports a wired volume control that includes a separate control for the bass volume and an standard 1/8 input jack for your iPod or MP3 player, as well as a standard headphone jack.

The MS21.4 is only $45.97 and offers all the same useful features as the MS21.2 but includes a more powerful amp at 116 watts of Average Music Power Output.

Both units offer the advantage of placing the smaller satellites on your desk, dresser or shelf while hiding the subwoofer out of the way on the floor. Both units deliver crisp highs and satisfying lows. Why not try one today?

New In-Wall Speaker Installation Guide with Pictures

We just finished a slideshow on how to install TSC in-wall speakers. This installation of our IW-D5 LCR front surround system took a little over an hour to complete. Most of the time was spent on planning and measuring. Once we were sure where to cut the holes, (that's honestly the hardest part!) it took no time at all.

You can view the slideshow here.

This serves as a guide to how our in-ceiling speakers would be installed also, except of course they would be in the ceiling. ;)

New LCR2, P5 Speaker Review

A new review of The Speaker Company's P Series speakers is available on The Sound Advice Blog. Don Lindich has a great review of our LCR2 and P5 bookshelf speakers. He does both stereo and home theater tests and offers some really nice pictures too. Here is a quote from his article;
"True to their billing, The Speaker Company speakers are a good alternative to competing speakers from big-box stores. Stereo listeners will find the P6 a good choice, with or without a subwoofer. As a surround sound setup, this system is greater than the sum of its parts. The absolutely perfect tonal matching, combined with the open sound and clear vocals of the center channel provides a satisfying experience at a price that will definitely make you smile."

The advantages of listening to The Speaker Company Speakers in your home

Loudspeakers are a very personal product. A speaker that sounds good to you may not sound good to someone else. It is also true that a speaker that sounds good in a dealer or warehoused size store may not sound good in your home.

The best way to determine if you’ll like the way a particular speaker is going to sound is to do some research on the size, style and type of speaker you want and to listen to them in YOUR HOME. In a store you’re listening to speakers in a… well, a showroom. It is likely the showroom will bear little or no resemblance to the size and shape of your listening area at home.

What’s in your room matters

All speakers will be affected by the size of your listening room, the furnishings, the wall covering, the floor covering and listener position. All these factors could make a dramatic difference in how good a speaker will sound in your home.

30 day in home trial

This is why we offer a 30 day trial to evaluate our speakers in your home. If you don’t agree that our speakers are a great value and sound good in your home let us know and we’ll issue you and RMA and pay the return shipping. (please read here for the details)

How can we sell speakers at these prices?

I see lots of emails and newsgroup postings asking how we can sell a quality speaker at prices this low. The answer is simple. We have direct relationships with the factories. We don’t deal with the middleman, we don’t have resellers who mark up the product again, we don’t have expensive print advertising and we don’t have a large full-time staff of accountants, lawyers and designers.

We simply find high quality speakers and sell them directly to you at prices that don’t have all the extra cost built in that other companies have. We’re so sure you’ll find our product to be the best “bang for the buck” that we give you 30 days to listen to the speakers in your home and if you don’t like them we’ll pay for the return shipping.

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get quality loudspeakers at a great price. Why not try us out today?

RC1 Center Channel Speaker Reviews

As I mentioned earlier this week the RC1 center channel speaker is one of our more popular speakers and now we are getting the reviews that show why.

Most times in life, you get what you pay for. There are however, rare exceptions where you feel that you got more than you paid for. This is one of those times.

Yeah, I love to hear the booming cannons in Master and Commander, and the sound of MG-42 bullets whizzing by in Band of Brothers, but I also want to hear what the actors are saying and it gets a little tougher when you’re middle aged. There is good voice clarity, accuracy and depth in this speaker – I’m hearing lines of dialogue on my DVDs that I hadn’t noticed before.

I wasn’t sure how it would sound with my old B&W front channel speakers, but the frequency range seems pretty close so it sounds like a good sonic match. The vocal range is very good and the sound is definitely beefier than the Pinnacle that had been my center channel speaker. Darth Vader’s resonant voice sounds like James Earl Jones, not like David Spade. Also, I’m not sure what they’ve done with the tweeter but the highs don’t sound shrill or tinny at all when the volume gets cranked (driven by my Pioneer VSX-1015TX @ 120 watts).

Finally, I know that “heft” is a cliché in consumer electronics but this speaker is solid, with a good finish. Apparently low price doesn’t mean skimping on construction or looks.

Given that I wasn’t paying for the overhead of advertising or distribution through a retailer, it’s not too surprising that the prices are great. Now, if The Speaker Company only had a nice iPod docking station for the wife …

Your speaker has added another dimension to my sound system. GREAT product at a GREAT price. Can't think of any reason to go elsewhere. Thanks again. g.

A center channel speaker is essential to give voice its presence in a movie or multichannel broadcast. The Speaker Company center channel does this effortlessly. The bonus is what it adds to music. i have front speakers that are quite a bit more expensive than the center channel. The center adds dimension without any detriment to the sound. i highly recommend it over center speakers six times more expensive. i recommend The Speaker Company to anyone looking for high quality loudspeakers at a great bargain price!

Jeffrey D.

I have a hearing problem with voices. Your front center channel speaker improved the system so much that I can hear every word spoken. It has made my enjoyment of television and movies much, much greater. My wife comments nearly every night about "how much better it is". Thank You for great speaker at a very reasonable price.

The P Series bookshelf speaker has arrived!

We're very excited here at The Speaker Company as our P Series of bookshelf speakers has finally arrived. Why are we so excited? These things sound fantastic and we're bringing them to you at a great price. The P Series is made up of the P5-PR, P6-PR, LCR1-P, LCR2-P and the LCR-3P.

The P5 has a 5 1/4" woofer and the P6 has a 6.5" woofer matched to a beautifully smooth 3/4 inch silk soft dome tweeter. Each is front ported for a little extra bass. Both are small cabinets so they are not going to knock you over with bass response but the bass response they do deliver is satisfying, detailed and clear. I really like the fact that they will fit almost anywhere without taking up much space. (My wife liked this too) These would be great in a den, on your mantle, or as your main listening speakers. If you add our ASub10 subwoofer with 250 watts of peak output one heck of a system.

P- Series Home Theater
The LCR-P series really shines as the main building block for your home theater. The center channel in these package gives exceedingly smooth vocal and with dual 5 1/4" woofers stunningly clear sound effects. Get the LCR2-P with it's 6.5 inch woofers up front with a pair of P5's as the surrounds and you'll have a compete surround system for $210!

Special Home Theater Package with Subwoofer
We've even put together a better deal with our HT-600 Home Theater system which includes an LCR2-P, P5-PR as surrounds and an ASub10 for only $299.00

Don't forget we give you Free Shipping & 30 days to try our speakers in your home. We're so sure you'll love them (especially at our prices) we'll even pay the return shipping.
